How OXO Planet Built a 9-Activity Adventure Park for Maira Resort in Just 3 Months

In 2024, Maira Resort & Convention Centre in Raipur was still taking shape when OXO Planet came on board to build something that would become part of the guest experience from day one: a complete adventure park.

The brief was ambitious. Nine adventure activities. Around 1.2 acres. A premium resort environment. And a delivery window of just three months.

There was one more complication: the resort itself was under construction. So while buildings, landscaping and services were progressing around us, our team had to design, engineer, fabricate and install the adventure park in parallel.

This was not a project where we could simply place a few activities on an open site. The adventure zone had to feel like it belonged to the resort — visually, operationally and experientially.

Maira already had the makings of a destination resort. Our job was to add adventure without making the property feel cluttered or overly industrial.

That shaped the planning from the start. Instead of treating every activity as a separate installation, we looked at the adventure park as one connected zone — how guests would enter it, how they would move through it, where instructors would operate, which structures could be shared and how the whole area would look from the rest of the resort.

The result was a mix of high-energy and family-friendly experiences built around a more integrated layout.

Adventure parks can easily become a collection of independent towers, platforms and activity zones. That may work functionally, but inside a premium resort it can quickly feel fragmented.

Wherever practical, we therefore brought activities together around shared infrastructure. That helped us use the site more efficiently, reduce unnecessary structural duplication and create a cleaner, more coherent guest journey.

It also made operations simpler. Instructor positions, access points and guest circulation could be considered together rather than activity by activity.

The goal was not to squeeze more into the site. It was to make the whole park feel intentional.

To a guest, each activity is a separate experience. From an engineering and execution perspective, they are closely connected.

A tower may support more than one activity. A platform affects access and operator movement. Foundation positions affect the overall layout. Safety systems, clearances and activity interfaces all have to work together.

So the project was planned as one system — from activity layout and structural engineering through fabrication, foundations, equipment integration, installation, testing and commissioning.

That design-build mindset becomes especially important on compact hospitality sites, where every structure has to earn its place.

The three-month timeline was demanding on its own. The active resort construction made sequencing even more important.

Site access changed as different areas became available. Civil work, structural work and installation had to be coordinated with another construction programme happening at the same time.

A purely sequential approach — finish the site, then fabricate, then install — would have cost valuable time. Instead, we worked in parallel.

While foundations and site preparation progressed in Raipur, structures were being fabricated off-site. As areas became ready, installation could begin without waiting for the entire resort to be completed.

That overlap between engineering, civil work, fabrication and installation is what made the three-month delivery possible.

Three months. Nine activities. One coordinated execution plan. Fast project delivery is rarely about asking the site team to work faster. It comes from reducing waiting time between decisions, approvals, fabrication and installation. On this project, the schedule worked because these streams were planned to move together.

One of the most interesting parts of hospitality-focused adventure infrastructure is that the same installation can serve several types of guests and several types of business.

For Maira Resort, the adventure park added another layer to family stays and leisure visits, but it could also support corporate off-sites, team-building programmes, conferences, group celebrations and other organised events.

That is where adventure infrastructure starts becoming more than an amenity. It gives a property another experience to package, another space to activate and another reason for guests to spend time at the destination.

The story did not end when the Raipur project was handed over.

In 2026, Maira Resort engaged OXO Planet again — this time for another adventure park at its property in Kanha.

For us, that repeat engagement is one of the most meaningful outcomes of the first project. A second project says something that a project-completion photograph cannot: the client was comfortable building on the relationship.

What began as a three-month adventure park assignment in Raipur has now grown into a partnership across properties.

More experiences. More reasons to visit. That was the idea behind the Maira Resort project from the beginning. Not adventure for the sake of adding activities, but adventure that fits the property, works operationally and gives guests something memorable to do while they are there.

That is also how we think about resort adventure infrastructure at OXO Planet: as part of the destination, not an add-on to it.
