Blending Climbing with Modern Gym Culture at Fitkits

At Fitkits Gym in Chennai, Oxo Planet installed a Traverse Climbing Wall measuring 10 feet high and 32 feet wide, perfectly suited for horizontal movement training and functional fitness routines. Unlike vertical climbs, traverse walls focus on lateral movement—helping members build grip strength, core stability, and full-body control in a low-risk environment.

The wall is seamlessly integrated into the gym’s workout zone and finished in a modern, minimalist design to match the gym’s aesthetic. With varied hold placements and scalable difficulty levels, it caters to both beginners and seasoned athletes. This installation supports Fitkits’ goal of offering diverse training modalities while adding an engaging, skill-based element to its fitness portfolio.

Engineering Decisions

The brief: functional-fitness climbing inside a working gym — no harnesses, no supervision overhead.

The engineering: a 30 ft wide, 9 ft high traverse format — climbers move sideways at safe height, so the wall runs unsupervised all day. Modelled in 3D before fabrication.

The outcome: a climbing circuit that fits gym operations — the traverse format at its best.
