A scenic thrill destination in the heart of Kathmandu’s jungle belt — home to Nepal’s longest roller coaster zipline at ~500 metres, built through standing forest.
The Brief
Ban Jungle Adventures wanted a full adventure park inside natural forest — without clear-felling trees to erect towers. The park had to preserve the canopy that gives it its identity.
Engineering Decisions
The roller coaster zipline track is mounted on living trees with steel augmentation: load paths verified per tree, growth allowance built into every clamp interface, and steel members carrying the dynamic loads the trees cannot. The same tree-plus-steel philosophy carries the treetop ropes course, a natural-look climbing wall, a kids’ obstacle course and a giant swing suspended amongst the trees.
Outcome
Nepal’s longest roller coaster zipline and a working template for forest-terrain adventure parks that keep their canopy intact — one of seven OXO projects in Nepal.
